Most disappointing home theatres aren’t disappointing because someone bought the wrong receiver. They disappoint because a cable bundle hangs down the wall under a mounted TV, because the soundbar happened instead of in-wall speakers, because the surrounds sit wherever the furniture allowed, and because running the thing requires four remotes and a family member who knows the sequence.
Simplification is the deliverable. If the least technical person in your house can’t start a movie without help, the job isn’t finished.

The single most common thing we’re called to fix, and the difference between “mounted” and “finished”. Concealment is straightforward when it’s done deliberately.

Basements are the AV room here, and that’s a gift. A large share of Saskatoon homes have a developed or developable basement — naturally darker, naturally quieter, and structurally the easiest place in the house to do a theatre properly. If yours is unfinished, that’s the best possible starting point.
Winter is the AV season. Between long evenings and months where nobody wants to be outside, the room you watch things in gets heavy use from roughly October to March. It’s worth doing well, and it’s the right time of year to have the work done.
Outdoor audio has to survive real winters. Speakers rated for the temperature swing, wiring run and terminated like it’s going to sit through minus forty, and a plan for what stays out year-round. Done properly it lasts; done casually it becomes a spring replacement.
Older homes, plaster, and additions. Concealing wire cleanly in a nineteen-fifties bungalow is a different job from a new build, and we’d rather look at the wall before promising an outcome.
When you don’t need us
- One TV in a bedroom? A decent bracket and an afternoon will do it. We’re not the right call for a straightforward mount on a wall you don’t mind seeing a cable on.
- A soundbar is genuinely enough for some rooms. If it’s a secondary space and you mostly watch the news, a good soundbar is the sensible purchase and we’ll say so.
- Don’t buy the gear first. Bring us the room and the budget before anything is ordered. Free consultation, and it routinely saves people expensive returns and a receiver that doesn’t suit the speakers.
- If your streaming stutters, this isn’t the fix. That’s a network problem, and buying a better TV will not solve it. Start with the network.

Frequently asked questions
Can you hide the wires in a finished wall?
Almost always, and cleanly — it’s the majority of what we do. Fishing cable through finished drywall is routine; older plaster-and-lath and some exterior walls take more work and occasionally need a different route. We’ll look at the actual wall and tell you what’s possible before we quote it, rather than after.
What equipment should I buy?
Talk to us before you buy anything. The free assessment covers what suits your room, your seating distance and your budget — and it regularly saves people from a return, an amplifier that doesn’t match the speakers, or a screen size that’s wrong for the space. We’re brand-agnostic, so the advice isn’t steering you toward a catalogue.

Really, and it’s the part people are most sceptical about. Simplification is the deliverable: one control for the room, and if the least technical person in your household can’t start a movie with it, we haven’t finished the job.

Yes, if they’re rated for it and installed like they’re going to sit through minus forty — which they are. The failures we get called to fix are almost always about how it was wired and mounted rather than the speaker itself.
Can you add audio to a room without tearing it apart?
Usually. In-ceiling and in-wall speakers go into finished rooms routinely, and the patching is much less dramatic than people expect. Where a room genuinely can’t take it, we’ll say so and suggest something that fits instead of forcing it.
We’re finishing our basement — when should we call?
At framing, before insulation and drywall. That’s when speaker wire, screen placement, seating sightlines and power all cost very little to get right. After the room is finished, the same result costs considerably more and involves cutting into new walls.
Do I need a subscription?
Not for the system itself — you own the equipment and it works without anyone’s monthly fee. Streaming services you choose to use are of course their own separate subscriptions, and nothing we install requires you to add one.
